Interviewer: G'day Larry! Amazing to have you here how about we start off with some basic questions like tell me about your childhood and growing up?
Larry: Well I was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. My mother was a itinerant baby photographer and i ended up going into the family business at a young age so i was introduced into the photography industry at around 13. But back in the days when i was about 16 I was a little shit as they would say haha my mates and i were only focused on two things drugs and sex but i just carried my camera around to capture our lives.
Interviewer: Where did you attend school?
Larry: The Layton school of Art!
Interviewer: So when did you actually start taking professional photos? and exposing them out there?
Larry: Well it was a daily thing for me to carry my camera around and i did this for a few years i started when i was 20 and finished when i was 28 but during that time i produced pictures of my drug induced coterie.
Interviewer: During that period you must have got a few interesting comments about your work because the content is quite raw and restricted?
Larry: The thing about my work is you're either gonna love it or hate it. My work can be quite confronting I've been told by critics that my work exposes the reality of American Suburban life.
Interviewer: Your latest Berlin show was defiantly a head tuner. How about you talk about the theme of the show?
Larry: Well I simply just wanted to document the everyday life of a u.s teenager. I mostly focused on adolescent beauty, sexuality and drug induced actions. I also believe i captured the consequences of these exertion acts which was very much influenced by one another.
Interviewer: Well that's awesome! Thanks so much for the interview Larry!
