Manual

The Burning Bush by Earsaregood

ISO: The ISO needs to be quite high to capture the light from the sparks and fire. Your camera should be set to 200 to get the best image.

WB: Tungsten/Incandescent

Shutter: The shutter speed needs to be slow to capture all the sparks and what not so 30 seconds would be recommended

Aperture: F8

Camera Angle: Neutral View

Cropping: 16:9 ratio for wide screen affect

Composition: The composition would be the fire and sparks as it is right in the middle and is the main focus.

Community:I believe his community would be an experimental art community with photography as the main focus. It's different and pretty amazing I reckon.

Interview

Interviewer: G'day Larry! Amazing to have you here how about we start off with some basic questions like tell me about your childhood and growing up?

Larry: Well I was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. My mother was a itinerant baby photographer and i ended up going into the family business at a young age so i was introduced into the photography industry at around 13. But back in the days when i was about 16 I was a little shit as they would say haha my mates and i were only focused on two things drugs and sex but i just carried my camera around to capture our lives.

Interviewer: Where did you attend school?

Larry: The Layton school of Art!

Interviewer: So when did you actually start taking professional photos? and exposing them out there?

Larry: Well it was a daily thing for me to carry my camera around and i did this for a few years i started when i was 20 and finished when i was 28 but during that time i produced pictures of my drug induced coterie.

Interviewer: During that period you must have got a few interesting comments about your work because the content is quite raw and restricted?

Larry: The thing about my work is you're either gonna love it or hate it. My work can be quite confronting I've been told by critics that my work exposes the reality of American Suburban life.

Interviewer: Your latest Berlin show was defiantly a head tuner. How about you talk about the theme of the show?

Larry: Well I simply just wanted to document the everyday life of a u.s teenager. I mostly focused on adolescent beauty, sexuality and drug induced actions. I also believe i captured the consequences of these exertion acts which was very much influenced by one another.

Interviewer: Well that's awesome! Thanks so much for the interview Larry!

Repetition

Trove Lo - Stay High 4:22

Medium Shot - 5 seconds

This clip starts off with a women who's in a bar/club. Through out the video all you see is her drinking constantly and partying. You also witness the aftermath of all the events she went through during the night as it shows her waking up from it all. In this clip its obvious to say she's just drinking her problems away as she starts to cry at the end of the clip. This video shows repetition throughout the film. Even though it has been filmed in a mid shot throughout the whole clip I actually find the video quite intriguing as it shows a day in her life. The reason why i chose this clip to represent the theme repetition is because you see the same actions that are involved which is her drinking all the time and also

Machine

James Miller - Magnetic Void 1:56
Wide shot - 6 seconds
Middle shot - 7 seconds

This video explores the beauty of destruction capturing the demolition of an old run down building. It starts off with a digger machine collecting a pile of bricks and rubble off the ground; but the uniqueness about this video is that everything has been slowed down and rewinded which gives the clip a sense of tranquility. I love how the clip captures bit by bit of each brick that falls from the building how it gets put back together it shows you what it used to be. I find it quite funny how something so grim and messy can look quite interesting and fascinating.

Dear Alien Pen pal,

I'm writing to inform you about my fellow community which is the crossfit community. Now you may be wondering what the heck that is? Well crossfit in a nutshell is a place where you do a high intense workout which focuses on your stamina, speed, strength, coordination, flexibility, agility, balance, accuracy, power and cardiovascular endurance. It's not a gym thats for sure! It's a place that will surely make you sweat up a storm but we call it a box. You'll walk in to see big muscle heads and then the occasional stick figures but all in all it's a place where people of all sizes go. Walking along the black rubber floor covered in sweat and white chalk you can feel a sense of intimidation but its certainly nothing like that it's a very welcoming community with lots of laughs and smiles especially with our amazing trainers. A day at crossfit starts with a warm up that will certainly get your heart beat racing which consists of leg and arm stretches but also your favourite push ups, squats, sit ups and lunges. And then you move on to your WOD which stands for workout for the day. You never do the same thing every exercise will work on different dynamics of your body which will always leave you feeling exhausted and buggered its definitely a challenge but I love it. In a WOD you will encounter a lot of work especially doing snatches, dead lifts and and clean and jerks which has a lot of technique you have to perfect to get your form right! These all involve lifting a 15-20kg bar where you can decide to put on as much weight as you'd like on both sides. You then have to do a range of movements and stages to preform these types of exercises. There's also these metal equipment called kettle bells which come in various weights which you use in your WOD. You mainly lift them or do kettle bell swings which involve holding the kettle bell in front of you with both hands whilst swinging the kettle bell above your head and then between your legs. Theres also these wooden boxes which come in different heights but are used to do box jumps which is an exercise where you pretty much just jump onto a box it may sound pretty easy but believe me it's quite a challenge. You'll also find a pull up bar, a set of gymnastics rings, weights, thick ropes attached to the roof used for climbing and medicine balls. After a workout you'd always be drenched in sweat and absolutely drained. But the day after your workout it gets even harder because thats when you have to deal with the pain. Sometimes to the point where every time you move it hurts but at the end of the day I will always love my cross fit.

Sincerely Renee

Journey

Jeb Corliss " Grinding The Crack"

Close up - 5 seconds
Birds Eye - 10seconds
This video starts with a a guy putting his helmet on he's on the side of a cliff covered in go pros preparing himself to jump off. You then see different shots from a variety of angles where he's placed the go pros of the beautiful scenary and of him gliding through the air. At the end he pulls his parachute and then lands safely. This video reflects the theme journey by the way Jeb Corliss takes you on his journey of  his breath taking and exhilarating stunt. I found this video very thrilling and moving because of the incredable scenary but also by how mezmarizing and crazy his stunt is. I beleive it really takes your breath away.
